Head Counselors

Head counselors in each division of camp are responsible for the direct supervision of 3-5 bunks; not exceeding seventy five campers per division.

Head counselors should circulate the camp making sure that the campers are at the right activities at all times. They should also make sure the counselors are dealing with campers in an appropriate fashion.

The Head Counselors are responsible for scheduling and organizing camp activities and ensuring that the proper supplies are on hand.

The HC is responsible for supervising the counselors and specialized activity leaders. The HC is accountable to the Camp Director and should consult with the Director if ever in doubt of how to proceed or if the safety of a camper or staff member is in question.

The Head Counselor coordinates with other divisions’ Head Counselors while planning and executing camp’s schedule.
Counselor

Counselors are responsible for the direct supervision of their bunk while maintaining the required minimum staff.

Counselors should ensure that all campers are participating and are enjoying all activities in a safe and fun way.

Counselors should use songs and smiles to set a good example of camp spirit; and otherwise boost the morale of their bunk.

Instill a love of Judaism and Torah in the campers by being a good role model and by educating the campers through stories and activities.

Assist with the preparation of activities in their bunks.

Participate in activities run by specialized activities staff and on trips where others are directing activities.

Counselors are accountable to the Head Counselor of their division and should always ask for assistance if in doubt of a camp policy or procedure or if the health or safety of a camper or staff member is in question.
Junior Counselor

Junior Counselors assist the counselor in leading the activities and in preparing supplies.

Assist with campers that require more individualized attention or assistance.

Junior Counselors are accountable to the Counselor of their bunk and to the Head Counselor and should always ask for help when unsure of how to proceed or if the health or safety of a camper or staff member is in question.
